Just open 'My Computer' or 'My Documents' or 'Search.' The windows that they open in are Explorer.
However if you can open .pdf docs stored locally on your hard drive then it's unlikely to be a file association problem.
If your problem is you can't view them in IE when you open them from a website then it's probably your IE Adobe plugin (M$ calls them add-ons). Go to IE -> Tools -> Manage Add-ons....
Select "Show add-ons currently enabled in IE."
You should see "AcroIEHlprObj Class." Check that it's enabled.

TOG
I've got 5.5 and there is only FOLDER OPTOINS' under tools.
I'm using millenium edition.
O.k Just found the bit you are referring to and re-read your instructions.
PDFs already open with ADOBE with no probs.
mozilla loads them in and ADOBE opens them. When using I.E. the pages won't load or open.
I just get a white screen with a small Icon in the top left of the screen.
This wasn't happening before I updated to version 6.0 I.E.
tried a sys restore which gave me 5.5 I.E back again but still no PDF files opening in I.E. even though they did before upgrade."Unhappiness is not knowing what we want, and killing ourselves to get it."Post Count: 4,111 Thanked 3,111 Times in 1,111 Posts (Actual figures as they once were))Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.0 -
There is a Tab in Folder Options called 'File Types.' That's where you need to set the pdf association.
