Not sure, but I believe that rehabilitation of offenders does not apply to CRB checks, so even spent convictions should be included.

TBH, you are better off declaring it yourself than omitting it and them discovering it. Looks less like you are trying to hide something

Mine never has, but I was fined in 1995, not sure if less than five years then it may show up. I have CRB checks done recently for working with vulnerable adults and also for working in a school.

I would also be honest and tell then about the fine just incase it does show up

Isn't the TV licence fine a civil offence rather than a criminal offence? Maybe it doesn't need to be declared for that reason?

Hi !!!!!! is right it isn't a criminal offence. I complete lots of CRBS as my work involves assessing people to look after vulnerable children. Schools are looking for offences against children, drugs and violent offences etc rather than not paying a tv licence so wouldn't be a problem.
Hope that helps and good luck

    From the TV Licensing website:
    "
What happens if I don't have a valid TV Licence?

Using TV receiving equipment to watch or record television programmes as they're being shown on TV without a valid licence is against the law.

It is an offence which could lead to prosecution and a fine of up to £1,000 (plus legal costs), not to mention the embarrassment and hassle of a court appearance. "

I agree that it's not up there with child abuse but it IS a criminal offence and must, therefore, be declared. I doubt that it would make any difference to your application unless you fail to declare it and it comes up on a CRB. Then you're seen to have lied and this could affect your application adversely.

Surely it is a civil offence since TVLA are a private party. They are, in effect, bringing a private prosecution. Only governments (or parts thereof) can prosecute criminal offences?

Just my take on the situation based on my understanding of the difference between civil & criminal law.

No - its a criminal offence created by an act of parliament and enforced on behalf of the government. Best to declare it as then you can not be accused of concealing a conviction.
