Kethry...what lovley cards. Are they stamped and embossed?
My favourite is the same as yours I really like that one but they are all lovely
Would you mind sharing how you made them?
BabdyKat ...Do you have to use a machine with them or are they just templates?
Size would all depend on what you make. Go into a craft shop and look at them rather than buying of the interet blind, Then if you like them buy off the internetIf you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel0 -
saveapenny - no problem.. um. lets see if i can remember.. LOL.. the central images on two of them were stamped and embossed, yes. The other two were done via a stencil, i was able to get a pen, the ink in it is embossing ink, which you can then put powder onto and emboss the normal way, but all were done on parchment paper. In three out of the four i turned the paper over and used a simple felt tip pen to colour in the bits i wanted to colour - the one i didn't, the bells, i felt were better left as they were. Then i simply cut apertures in the cards, and in two out of the four i used a thick gold or silver pen to paint the edge of the card. the rounded corners were done via a punch, various other designs were stamped (and sometimes embossed, sometimes not) onto the card. the reverse side of the card then had stickybacked tape applied to it, to which i stuck the parchment paper, so it could be seen through the window, then the "backing" paper. that was pretty much it i think.
using stamps/stencils and embossing powder in this way is quite nice cos you get a sort of "stained glass window" effect. I was using some parchment paper that was quite small (6cm square, the cards are 10cm square), but you could, if you had some means of attaching the parchment paper to the card in a way that didn't show (which stickybacked tape does, alas), perhaps via brads or something like that, have no backing paper on the card at all, and allow it to be a true "window".. that could be lovely. you do need to use stamps/stencils that create an outline though, for a stained glass window effect, and i'm still very much building up my collection of such things. maybe next year!
there's a proper tutorial in this here, for those that want to have a go...

Saint_Chris - I live just off Lodge Lane, so Probably quite close to where your sister used to live. Whereabouts are you - Manchester?
RustyFlange - he still seems ok, he's being really good and not really moaning. I dug out a little lego set that I had put away for xmas and gave it to him so he's playing with that - I thought he deserved a treat. Thanks for asking.0 -
