Guaranteed money saving for students

Hi everyone!

It's not easy being a "typical" student where the ends don't meet with your finances. Overhearing many students saying that they don't have enough cash and being skint really makes me think about how they manage their finances.

Having a wide circle of friends and asking all of them what they spend most of their loan or income on apart from rent. Most of them said, as I have guessed it on Booze!!!!!! :-*

As a non-drinker myself, I estimate that on average I save about £60/ week (since most of them spend on average that much!).

If I can manage without booze for me to get through life, then you all can too, plus save quite a lot!

Shouldn't we all be looking after our finances properly and not blowing it on alchahol?

    I've been Money Tipped!
    Totally agree!!!
I'm a single mum and live ½ hourtrain journey away from college so don't have the time or opportunity to socialise.

The rest of my year are always puzzled as to how I can bring up 2 kids, pay out on childcare, rent, bills and still be the only one with cash in my pocket.

Mind you the extra grants for us mature singletons with kids helps - lol

I don't mind students drinking as long as they can spell alcohol!

Yes but you have be honest, alcohol makes your student days much more fun, and if you don't like drinking alcohol then you will end up spending the saved money on other alternative luxuries anyway. Each to their own!

I know, it's just the same! But one thing on booze and the other on physical posessions that you keep! ;D

Either way we are all spending money! ;D
