im looknig for 2 venetian blinds, 2.20m wide x 1.30m drop. Does anyone know a place that does them this wide? And what sort of money will they be?
I was worried that due to the width, they would be quite heavy to operate up and down and also may sag in the middle? I dont really want aluminium ones, prefer wood or plastic
Many thanks in advance

I worked for a blind manufacturer for umpteen years - You will struggle with the width of of 220 cm in wood but you can get a nice wood effect look in that width.
Look at https://www.web-blind.co.uk
You should pay around £130 for that size.
They will come with at least 3 brackets at that width and should hang OK
What I will say - Is measure very very carefully at the top middle and bottom of your window, then measure it all again, we used to make them to the 5mm accuracy so get it right.
Hope this helps. The quicker you fall behind, the longer you have to catch up...0 -
Try Hillary's www.hillarys.co.uk. We bought a venetian from there last year. It was slightly bigger than the one you are after. They came out and measured and ordered it for us and then came and fitted it (only 10 minutes for them to fit it using 3 brackets). It cost £105 all in.
Make sure you look out for the % off or BOGOF coupons in the papers. If you don't find any, ask for a discount - the reps do have scope for discounting.
Note: we bought a lightweight metal one in a creamy off-white shade and with narrower slats than traditional metal venetians. It is very light (perhaps too light - kids can easily bend the slats if they try so if you have toddlers you need to think about that). "Opening" it to let the light through is very easy with the wand control. Lifting it all the way up with the chords is easy because it is lightweight. Bringing it down - well, I find that hard (controlling the thre chords) but I did with our old one too - I don't have the knack for doing that with venetians. My wife manages ok though.
Our old venetian was much more solid than the Hillary's but looked too industrial.
They do the wood-look ones too but I don't know whether they do them in the size you want.
We also bought our vertical blinds from the same company. Again, they are more lightweight than the very old ones we were replacing ... but they suited our budget more than other places we tried.
Hope this helps.0 -

Actually Web- Blinds is Hillarys which is also who I worked for. :rotfl:
If you get one of their reps in to measure up and show you the samples, he will leave you with a quote, ask for their best price, then wait a couple of weeks and the factory will offer you a further discount, if you can wait a little longer they will offer you another discount.
Good Luck! The quicker you fall behind, the longer you have to catch up...0 -

I had the same problem not many companies do wide wdths like yours. I had mine made from John Lewis. Wooden slatted. Also Laura ashley do these widths but a bit more expensive.0
