Who's tied in with who?

Is there a list anywhere where one can see which card company is tied in with which bank, like:
Virgin and MBNA
Then we wouldn't end up applying for something which can not be used, like:
Applying for a Virgin Card to pay off a MBNA debt.
Are MBNA tied in with anybody else apart from Virgin?
