Xbox 360: Wanting To Insure It, How?

Hi,
My Xbox360 is close to ending its 1 year Warranty.
I know MS upped its Warranty to 3 years but that is solely for 3RLOD.
From what I have read there are a lot of other things that can go wrong with these terribly designed machines other than 3RLOD.
So my idea was to find a way to purchase a cheap as possible electronics insurance claim solely for this one console to protect it from whatever can go wrong.
I do not wish to go down the route of potentially claiming on any home contents insurance if this fails as we will lose the no claims discount we get and also the premium would go up just for this one console.
So I would like to setup a way to cover it myself separately using a specific electronics insurance.
So what would be the cheapest and reliable method and company to use to cover the xbox for any problems. Also are there any insurers which just specialize in insuring the Xbox 360 in the UK
Thanks
Anthony

It's not insurance you want it's a warrenty and methinks you will find they are only available when buying the item new.
Your contents insurance covers it but not for breakdown.0 -
We were forced into buying a rip off extended warantee on our washing machine - 13 months after purchase.
It had broken (again) and was out of the 12 mths, and only had parts warrantee for 5 years and the callout fee was £90 a time, and it was just before Christmas so we couldn't wait for delivery of a new one.
When we called the service people it was them that sold it to us - perhaps if you contacted the retailer you could ask them? or do Microsoft have a number you can call from the manual?
Might be worth a try!

A home policy will generally not cover electrical breakdown. Anyhow, for circumstances like this, much better to self-insure, eg just putting a fiver or a tenner a month aside to cover any future problems.
These types of goods experience rapid obsolescence so you'll probably be able to buy second hand ones dirt cheap soon, if you can't already.0 -

Tony UK, no point in carrying out an extension. The repair will only cost £60 or less! Ronaldo is right. MS will fix it for you even if your warranty has expired.Motto: 'If you don't ask, you don't get!!'

Just a quick note to mention that even after the year's warranty has expired, you could still try to return it to the shop you bought it from under the Sale Of Goods stuff...0
