Dumb phone upgrade transfer procedure.

Next week I am due to upgrade my mobile from samsung e800 to sony ericsson k750i with orange. I know they supply a manual, but invariably it is small feint print, so I want to be sure I have the procedure right.

1) register
2) insert sim
3) charge phone

Manually transfer all phone numbers from address book. What I can't get my head round is the fact that they should be able to be sent, but how is that done, because once the new phone is registered, presumably with it charged, it now becomes live and the old phone with the numbers stored cannot transfer ?.

The same goes with photographs which are stored.

I will be gratefull to receive an uncomplicated reply.
