ASDA returns policy?

I bought a printer for my PC, but stupidly did not compare prices first. I now know that I can buy a better printer for slightly less or the same price - from somewhere else (ie via the internet).

Ive read somewhere that asda do a 28 day no quibble money back guarantee.

Does anybody know if this is correct, or am I clutching at straws?

I have all the original packaging - but I have used it a few times (its less than 24hrs old).

Any ideas?

YOu can but try! They can only say no can't they. Presumably you have the reciept? If you pack it all up nicely and take it back in an Asda bag that all helps to create a good impression I think. If you say you've realised it doesn't meet your needs they may be sympathetic.

Can you get the same model you already have, cheaper on the internet? I was thinking, if they won't actually refund you, would they price-match possibly?

they do a money back guarantee if the goods are returned in the same condition.you could say it's not working properly in which case you should be able to get a full refund.it's worth a try.
No reliance should be placed on the above.

Just bring it back within 28 days, with your receipt. It's amazing how many people bring stuff back saying it's not working, but actually does work! I have the job of trying them out!!!

Take it back in original packaging etc :) I've always found asda to be the best for returns and refunds.

    Good luck

  • Thanks for the replies,
I have now gone and purchased another off the internet, and intend to take the 'asda' one back tomorrow.
I hope that they will take it back, or I am stuck with an extra printer!
  • Well, I took it back, and no questions were asked. They refunded my money completely fuss free.
I just thought Id mention it, if anyone was interested, and to conclude this post.
    Thanks

    Hi all,

I purchased a portable TV from Asda exactly three weeks ago and have decided that I don't like it.
There is nothing wrong with it, I merely don't like it.

Does their 28 day returns policy mean that I can take it back for a full refund, saying that I 'just don't like it'? Or, am I best to say it has a fault, (therefore lying)?
I am aware that if an item has a fault then you get your money back with no problem whatsoever.

I really don't mind either way!

I await your replies with interest

    Cheers

My local Asda are brilliant on refunds. I have brought back children's toys when I have simply changed my mind and they have refunded me. I have also brought back razor blades when I bought the wrong ones. As long as you have the receipt and it's all packaged they are really helpful. By far the best for returns is John Lewis, however. We bought a washing line but it was too big for our narrow garden so we brought it back, even though we couldn't get it back into it's box, and it had got tangled, they didn't bat an eyelid and just gave us a full refund.
