French Villas

Just had a letter from Bridge French Villas offering french villas with private pools in the south of France for reasonable prices (as low as £599 for one week sleeping four people including ferry fares), has anyone had experiences with this company. They seem ok and are ATOL protected but I have never heard of them :-/

    Sorry, i don't know this firm, but I'm always amazed at what people will pay.

    I run the risk of getting people's backs up here, as what follows could be interpreted as an ad. What I'm trying to do is to make a valid comparison. Hope folks will take this as a constructive comparison, and not a blatant "plug". In this instance, in any case, superfly is interested in the South of France (by which I understand Côte d'Azur, or similar) and I am located in South West France, so I'm clearly not making a bid for his/her custom.

    Like many Brits in France, we run a B&B. Our nightly charge is 46€ for a double room.

    Put that together with a cheap car return on Speedferries (starting at £50), and you get the following:

    One week's B&B = 7 x 46€ = 322€ = £214.67
    Return ferry = £50
    Total = £264.67

    This is not totally inclusive, of course, as it's not clear whether the price superfly quotes includes travel and car breakdown insurance, green card, etc. But it DOES include breakfasts for two people for a week.

    OK, it's not a villa, but there's pool, garden, beautiful countryside, etc.

    If it were me, I think I'd rather take the cheaper option and spend the differences on meals out, wine-tasting, etc.

    There are loads of sites advertising gites, B&Bs, chambres d'hôte, etc. My advice would be to shop around!

    I do hope that this post causes no-one any offence.

    no offence taken and I see your point but the deal with this one is £599 for FOUR people not per person or per room. One weeks rent in the villa and the ferry crossing for one car and up to five people so it may work out roughly the same. just found their site but it doesnthave any of the deals included in the leaflet?? ???

    :D Thank you for your understanding, superfly!

    I take your point about the £599 being an all-in price. So was my example, of course - although accomm for two people in this case. Whilst we only accommodate couples, many people receive up to ten or more guests, so for two rooms, just double the accommodation cost in the example. I realise, of course, that this brings the total nearer to your quoted figure!

    Whatever you decide, and wherever you go, have a great time!
