John lewis won't!

I ordered a TV from John Lewis couple of days ago but received an email yesterday to say the order was cancelled as it had failed security checks. So I rung John Lewis and they apologise and said would re-do the order.

Just had another email from john Lewis to say it's been cancelled again!! Rang them again and they said would have to ring back tomorrow and ask to speak to held orders this time as something is obviously going wrong.

I then went onto my credit card online and noticed that John Lewis have taken the money (well it's been authorised to be taken as my available credit has gone down by twice the amount of the TV)

Just rang the credit card company and they said yeh its fine, as far as they're concerned they've authorised the transaction and John Lewis are welcome to take the money (he actually said in theory they could now take it twice but that's unlikely to happen) so they aren't to blame.

So why won't John Lewis give me my TV? Credit card company have said it's all fine by them, guess I'll have to wait till tomorrow, I bet they don't have it in stock and they're just stalling or something daft. Grr! Maybe it's a sign that I really shouldn't be buying a new TV, lol!

EDIT: Thread was meant to be called John lewis won't give me my TV! not sure what happened there

This is typical of JL Direct I'm afraid.

Last year I ordered a bag from them. I was promised on several occasions that it was on its way to me, until the day before my holiday (when I needed it for), when they told me that it was actually out of stock and therefore had never been sent to the courier!

This year I ordered a suitcase from them. The courier rang the wrong number (my parents number, which was listed as a secondary contact) to say that they could not find my house, so it did appear to be on its way to me. However, JL insist it was never on its way because it was out of stock!!! This happened in early January and they have still not refunded my money ...

    Good luck! x

Is the delivery address the same as where the card is registered?

It isn't and I wondered if that may be the reason. However, the website allowed me to enter a billing and a different delivery address so I presumed they would be able to differentiate between them and it wouldn't be a problem, I order from loads of places with a different billing and delivery address and it doesn't seem to be a problem with any of them. And also when I made the second order over the phone I asked if that was the issue and he said it was no problem as long as the billing one matched the one on my credit card which it does.

Why do companies struggle with the fact not everyone has only one address and having all your bills sent to your more permanent address rather than having to change them all every time you rent a new place is a better idea? Don't get me started on my car insurance! :p lol
