Advent laptop screen probs:(

My laptop is working , I can just about see the webpages very very faintly, it looks like it isn't on but it is(screen looks black if you dont look closely) I haven't changed the brighness settings, and when i try to nothing happens.Help!!!:eek: :eek: :eek: It is out of the 12 month warranty period, just:(

    sound like the backlight has failed, or the inverter, not a cheap or easy job

    If you're prepared to hold out for your rights under the Sale of Goods Act, the 12 month warranty is to a certain extent irrelevant. But you may well experience a lot of resistance from the retailer involved!

    Thats a nice idea, but there is no way she can take it back to the shop because of the outrageous content on the harddrive.;)

    most likely the inverter. not too expensive to buy and easy to replace (ten min job)

    After much research whilst you got drunk I discovered that they are not known for this kind of thing.

    You could try pressing Fn & F5 at the same time but I believe you have already tried this.

    In that case you are definately having problems with the operator. A new one should cost about £20-30.;)
