I'm not sure what cover you want or what your cheapest quote was but I found a quite cheap quote from https://www.cheap-travelinsurance.org for 18 days basic cover it is £8.830

Hi, it's totally your choice but cheaper = not always better!!!
my mum and dad had a policy with flexicover for when they went to India - nice and cheap great but then they had an accident - a bad one.
Flexicover firstly refused to arrange flights for me and my sister to get out there, we had to find flights during an indian festival which we could only get for 4 days later and took us 24 hours and 4 stop overs to get there.
By that time, due to the substandard indian hospital they were in (we were assured it was a top private hospital by flexicover - it wasn't) we were a day too late and my dad was left brain damaged.
To top it off, they then said that there was no way they would fly him home and my mum who had multiple fractures and was badly in need of operations ( which i refused to have done in that hospital) would have to wait for 9 seats to be available on a flight so she could be stretchered home. (to lie on a flight in full view of the whole plane with a heart condition, multiple facial, rib and leg fractures on her own having left her husband behind). When i complained i was told and i quote 'if you don't stop interfering then we will leave Mr Prentice (my dad) out there to die'. Yes that's exactly what they said to me.
Anyhow in the end they did fly then both home privately but only after the sun newspaper had agreed to fly them home to publicise the story in return and we threatened them with it. Flexicover then a week after my dad had died from his injuries sent him a letter asking was he pleased with the service he had received!!! NICE.
Seriously i am not in anyway exaggerating any of this and it is one of those it'll never happen to me stories - well it did happen to me and i would never wish the same thing on my worst enemy but my god if the director of flexicover had to go through the same responses and attitude of call centre staff who don't give a **** - if it happened to his family then i wonder if the company would still be offering such cheap (and as a result - substandard) policies. DON'T DO IT!!!0
