Can I claim?

I am to be made redundant and have PPI on a loan. My PPI will cover this.
I can also take early retirement.
The T's & C's state that I can't claim if I take early retirement, anyone know if I could still claim by the fact of being made redundant?

Your contract of employment can be terminated for one reason and one reason only. So ....

    Are you being made redundant?

Or are you taking early retirement?

Note ... if you are made redundant, you might be allowed to take your pension at the same time. But it's the reason for the termination of your employment that's relevant. Having said that, your PPI small print might exclude a claim where you are made redundant but receive an immediate pension.

It rather depends on the terms of the PPI policy you have.

Thank you for your response. I am being made redundant.
My pension is a final salary, I could have taken this at any time from age 50.
My pensions department tell me that my taking early retirement from active service has nothing to do with my redundancy.
The small print says nothing about taking redundancy and then early retirement.
If I wasn't being made redundant, I wouldn't dream of taking early retirement for at least another 5 years.

    Hope that's clear

Just re read your post, nothing in T's & C'S about redundancy and immediate pension.
    Got the magnifying glass out.
"Please note that cover and benefits paid under this section of the policy
    end when You retire"

If you are going to be signing up for jobseekers allowance until you find another job then you should be fine. If you dont intend to do that and retire then they wont pay out normally.

    Thanks.

I intend to take early retirement. But, sign on for Job seekers till I find a suitable job.
I'm too young to retire. ;)
