TISCALI.. (what they dont want you to know!)

Options
 Hi Mrs Angry here!

Just thought all Tiscali broadband users should know that they are probably OVERPAYING for their connection!!

EXAMPLE

My conection was priced at £24.99 a year ago, in January I was looking on the Tiscali web page, and saw that the very same package that I have was on offer at £19.99 I contacted them immediately, and my payment was reduced ,same things happened again, and its now £14.99 luckily I spotted it. because THEY DONT automatically give you the reduction  Oh NO!!been told by customer services today that its up to you, to check out the web site , and call and ask for the reduction.... otherwise BAD LUCK.. you just continue to pay the higher price

In my opinion, this is sneaky, and underhand,so im leaving them...

The thing is HOW MANY people out there check to see if their package has been reduced??????because it was only by accident that I came across it... SO today I want them named and SHAMED!!!!! :naughty:

There not the only ISP to do this. It's partly to do with which ASDL product you are on (IPSTREAM, DATASTREAM etc and how they are charged to the ISP's) and the BT program of rolling upgrades.

What I have read is it's very difficult to leave Tiscali (I've read of people deliberately breaking the terms of service to get cut off by Tiscali). They don't support migrations, which means it's a cease and reprovide, meaning downtime and possible extra activation charges.

Just read they are supposed to starting to support migrations in the next few weeks (but they have promised it before).

Two useful links for you. I think you'll need to register on the ADSLGuide forums in order to post.

ADSLGuide Tiscali Board (Full of unhappy Tiscali punters).

  • Don't all companies work this way anyway?? (Sky/Cable TV, credit cards with balance transfer offers, etc..) i.e. special offer only available to new customers. In fact Tiscali are possibly better than most by allowing you to switch

    Just a thought :D

No, I'm on Metronet and they automatically make any changes on all relevent customers accounts. They have recently made changes to charges and usage which were applied very quickly to all. Great c/s too.

dont even go there with tiscali we had no ends of problems with them and our contract ended in january however the other day they tried to take money out of oh's account which he was then charged £35 for (it got refunded) because apparently we used tiscali for 1 day in february, i dont see how though seeing as we already had our ntl broadband connected by then.

Not in any case, you sign up to an isp, whoever that might be.. if in, that 12 months of your contract they dont provide the service you have signed for, you are well in your right to cancell at any given time.

  • You dont have to call India to change the price of your package, you can do it online.
Just log into your Tiscali account and "change package". Thats what i did a few months ago and went from £24.99 a month to £15.99 a month for the same package.
