    go for cornflower and water. then do your barly in a bit of water separately and mix up on your plate.....
    If i upset you don't stress, never forget that god aint finished with me yet.

    Too late for you now, but you couldve boiled the pearl barley on the stove, and then put it in near the end!!

    Will it work in a slow cooker instead? I've not used pearl barley in one before, it doesn't need pre-soaking. :confused:

    Barley is fine in the SC, I do it quite often.

    Pearl barleys is fine in a slow cooker.

    I do stir mine ocassionally just to check it hasn't sunk to the bottom.
