Last night my tv started making an elcetrical buzzing noise. But today it just doesn't come on.. Does that mean i need to get the tube replaced?
Or i'm a better off buying a new tv..?
All suggestions are welcome...

I don't think it is that simple. What you need is to have the details ie manufacturer, model number, date of manufacture would also be useful. There are well known pathologies to established TVs. However we live increasingly in a throw away culture so the economics of repair often do not make any sense.
My guess is a duff capacitor somewhere in the electronicky thingymajig.

hi thanks for replying..
if it is a duff capictor is it expensive to repair?
my tv is a samsung 32" widescreen... about 4 yr old0 -
I'm no TV expert but you have not mentioned the model number of your TV. I was joking when I said it was a capacitor, but they have been a plague on the PC motherboard industry. An Engineer may have to replace the board in which the faulty component is thought to exist. This is going to require detailed product identification.

The more reliable your product the harder it may be to find spares for it and somebody to fix it for you.0 -
Funny enough our plasma makes a faint buzzing noise.
It only seems to do it when using the freeview box though, very strange0 -
Flang , it may be that your Freeview box volume is not turned up to the max, as this would cause a slight buzz. If not that it could be a loose scart connection.

Unlikely the tube is faulty. Sounds like a dry joint or transformer ringing. Should be a minor problem. Get a local tv repair firm to give you a quote as a Samsung 32" will cost you £300-£400 to replace.0
