The response has been great - many more than we expected have said they are coming and that they welcome the relaxed approach. No expense for anyone and couples can come together (so no concerns about what their OH is up to while away with mates). Not everyone's cup of tea but it has been a doddle to arrange and everyone is looking forward to it.
What a lovely idea. I'm still feeling rather rough after a few drinks last night and am now thinking.... how the hell am I gonna cope on my 5 day hen do to Magaluf!0 -

i'm going for the first friday or saturday after payday (easier for me and everyone else) and we're going to a local chinese buffet place (£15 including drink) and then onto gala bingo. I've never done the bingo thing and it doesnt' have to cost us a lot of money and who know's if anyone will win anything. All my friends seem to think it's a good idea, i was worried they would think it was lame. Truth is i don't drink so no point having a pub crawl, and am trying to be very mse, and remeber my friend who wanted everyone to go to Cambridge for the entire weekend, and was narked when i couldn't afford to stop over and just went for the day. Guess you could say i was narked when i found they had voted that everyone was to give £5 for a pair of flipflops for my friend on her honeymoon. Now don't get me wrong she's my friend but i didn't and don't have money to throw away on £50 odd flip flops - and they weren't even gold plated!0

I haven't read any of the posts apart from OP so apologies if I offend.
The thought of a traditional hen do, wings, L plates, pub crawl.......just makes my skin crawl.
When I get around to actually sorting out the wedding etc, want a weekend in Milan or Barcelona or something, make sure everyone gets plenty of notice to put some money by as I don't want anyone worrying about it and also won't be a load of people, just want sisters and close friends. Cheapest flights I can find, and a lovely weekend of shopping and cocktails. :jA cloudy day is no match for a sunny disposition~ William Arthur Ward ~0 -

What a great idea.My hubby to be and I were not going to bother with the stag or hen do but a family night out sounds very good.We will probably do something now.:T"Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0 -
Think I'm going to the Centre Parks place in the Lake District.....couple of log cabins for me & my mates, sauna, beauty treatments, restaurant meals, lots of wine, bit of fresh air when in the jacuzzi

Its not too far to go, and we can pretty much do as we please and take our own grub if it turns out expensive.0
