Hi has anyone heard of 'Helphire' -- my partner has a replacement bike from them, while his bike is being assessed by an insurer's agent after an accident. My partner wasn't at fault, the other car-driver party has admitted responsibility verbally (both at the time of the accident and on the phone to me a couple of days ago). Though still not sure if her insurance company has put anything in writing, which is obviously the key thing. Will we have to pay anything to Helphire? They said we wouldn't as the other party is at fault, as did the broker and the insurer, but still worrying about it ... as it's in Helphire's interest to keep my DP with the hire bike as long as possible! Any thoughts or experiences greatly appreciated.

I had a dealing with helphire at haydock a year or two back and I thought they were the biggest buch of idiots I had ever had the misfortune to meet.
I had a none fault accident they supplied me with very nice golf. for a couple of weeks i had asked how long i can keep it they said until i have cashed my cheque them a few days after in order to find a new car.
So Next i recieve a call fom them asking for the car back I said hang on what about until I cash cheque and a few days to find a car. snotty bloke came back with well actually sir its only seven days from when we recieve the cheque I said ok fair enough do you have my cheque he said NO I said go away then and get it. What a plonker
so a few days pass my other half gets home to find a letter from them saying they are cancelling the insurance on the hire car as from 17:00 hrs today its now 17:40 so I had been driving with no insuarance for 40 mins.
Gave them a ring they said there is nothing they can. So i told them in that case the car will be left by the side of the M4 near london. As thats where i was(actually at home by that point nr liverpool but they didnt know) So magically thats when they could extend the insurance.
I will never deal with them again and now if I ever have an accident i pick my own solicitor and my own hire firm0
