So it seems that you can send a letter that is properly addressed with postcode etc. and simply because the postman can't seem to read and/or know which street he's in and puts it in the wrong door, you have absolutely no come back on Royal Mail at all. Even when they investigate and admit that they were in the wrong.

The 'normal' Royal Mail delivery service is designed as a low cost service that mostly gets it right. If you want perfection then you have to pay for it.

What do you think the response would be if the Royal Mail said "It has been pointed out that our standard service is unacceptable. As of today we are withdrawing the all our current services and in future the only service we will offer is our new fully tracked door to door service. Sorry that the cost of posting a letter has gone up from 24p to £50.00"
I wonder what anyone else would do under the same circumstances?
Find out what the rules regarding belated payment of Child Tax Credit were, and keep a better track on my bank account in the future.
