Ever growing population= more new housing= more land needed for new homes.

I have been recently looking into buying land with a view to selling it on in the future for a profit. Not looking for land with planning permission, as this obviously drives up the price. with abudget of around 20k I have already found afew plots. but i,m still researching before I buy anything, anyone with experience in this or views on it, let me know what you think?
