I had this Discussion with my dad this afternoon and I had a look, it's a Bank Hoiday in Scotland on monday and in England and Wales on the 29th Aug. HTH0

As it's a Bank Holiday in Scotland, they pay early across the whole UK - keeps their computer system simple(ish!)
Same happens on all non-standard (ie Scottish/Irish) Bank Holidays.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0
