Don't know. But a couple of times when I've wanted to bid on auctions that block UK bidders, I've emailed the seller direct and explained I'd like to bid, I've got Paypal and that the item can be sent to a US address. Usually once they see you have the payment and postage method ready, they will let you bid.
Or you could ask your US friend to set up an account for you, that you could use?Val.0 -
i really dont want to trouble my friend anymore than i have to, so id rather do it myself
i emailed the seller to explain the situation and they said if ebay has blocked me then theres nothing they can do lol0 -
Firstly, if you have a UK account then this is automatically a US account too, but if you log into the .com site this doesnt mean you are then registered and based in the USA.
What you can do the issue is email the seller using the link at the top Right of their listing and ask them to add your ID to their exceptions list at http://offer.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?BidderPermitLogin
Speak to them nice, ask them to check your feedback and assure them that you are willing to pay the insurance, this is why many dont ship overseas.0 -

well before you answered i registered on the u.s site and its accepted what i put in
as far as the seller is concerned they are sending to usa....the parcels go to newyork then the army /airforce bundles em up and brings em to the aribases etc0 -
that link you posted...any chance you can find the .com one i can forward to the seller? might as well do it via my u.k account as i have feedback on there0

My initial registration for ebay was on ebay.com as ebay .UK was not around inthose days. However, my registration address is the UK so I am still blocked from buying anything that does not ship to the UK. The registration address is all that matters, so if you are using a US address then that is fine.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
