Credit card cheque or loan

I have the chance to purchase a vehicle for around £2000 from a family member (quite abit below cars worth).

I am unsure as to write a credit card cheque (virgin) for the amount and then shift the amount with approx £1000 spending from another card onto a long term balance transfer card. This would offer the chance to pay of sooner as should be in a position to over pay what loan repayments would be.

Or should I get a £3000 loan out over 2/3 years and be committed to repaying over that time.

Last but not least - get my old banger fixed and keep driving it and fixing it everytime it goes wrong.

Peoples thoughts would be great.
