Get from B'ham to Heathrow on a Budget

Hi There

We are 3 adults flying to Dubai on the 1st April. looking for the cheapest method for getting from Birmingham to Heathrow.

Currently taking my own car using long stay car park £50ish + Fuel (which I don’t really want to do)
National Express £90ish Return for 3 adults
Car hire is about £50 - £60 one way

Obviously I need to get back from Heathrow to Birmingham, when I return. Anyone got any other ideas!! Really thought car hire would be cost effective but it really isn’t

To top it off I need to be at Heathrow at 5pm ready for check in and I cannot leave Birmingham until about 12:30pm which gives me about 4.5 hours to get there

Help appreciated

Regards

Jag

Change your ticket: Emirates offer non-stop flights from Birmingham.

Otherwise, cancel your mid-day appointment and explore cheap ways of getting to London, Slough or Reading. The cheapest is likely to be a National Express fun-fair, or perhaps a discounted train ticket on Midland Railways. Then allow about five pounds each for an underground ticket out to Heathrow.

I don't know where you exactly you end up if you use them, but Megabus does Birmingham-London cheaply.

Tried the Megabus route... Although cheaper it's way too much hassle I can't see the 3 of us lugging large suitcases around London Victoria to Heathrow..

I think the cheapest option by far is going to be taking my own car and paying to park for the week! £30ish for fuel and £40ish for parking not too bad £70 total

That's got to be your best bet for three people, without all the hassle. Try Purple Parking, 10 mins from Heathrow and if you become a free "Member", you get extra discount.
