Hi,
Am a bit confused here. We need to purchase a second hand car, price £2000 - £3000 and I need a cc to help pay for some of this.
Tesco has a 0% on balance transfers for 13 months (with a fee of 2.5%) and it also offers 0% on purchases for 3 months. Alternatively, Virgin has 0% on balance transfers for 15 months (fee 2.98%) and also 0% on purchases for 3 months.
Trouble is, is a car purchase from a dealer classed as a purchase or as a balance transfer?
If it is classed as a purchase, will that then mean that we wont pay any fees for using it? (I do not want to use the card for any other purchases and I do not have any current debt to put on it either, the cc would just solely be used for this car purchase.)
Thanks for your advice!

firstly will the dealer acccept a CC payment? some will and some won't.
if he does do they make a surcharge?
if they do accept a CC, then will count as a purchase and so you will only have 3 months to pay it off but no CC fee.
if you go for the virgin deal you can BT from your current a/c and then pay for the car by cheque0
