Plenty of the MF freebie in Coventry today, but I was too chicken to take one :o In my defense, the MF SA was eyeing me up very suspiciously watching me like a hawk as I lingered around the counter........

I parted with some points today  , 9999 of them to be precise <sob> on a camera for daughter for xmas. Well, it WAS a great buy, reduced from £269.99 to £99.99, but oh my god, it was painful spending those points.

I'm trying to keep up and failing. :D Can someone please explain what the max factor gwp that goes through free looks like please? I am popping into my local boots today which is usually crap (didn't have highlighters when the illum offer was on etc), but you never know, I will keep my eyes out!

Does anyone else dislike the new ebay set out? I find it's much harder to use/search completed/narrow down to buy it now.

I did exactly the same last year, and HATED spending the points, although it was rationally one of the most sensible things I've ever done.

Why do points sitting on the card feel like a comfort blanket, rather than a means to an end?

It is silly really, because with the points on the card you are tied to buying from Boots, so if you get a lean month, the points are not as good as cash in your pocket to buy food!!

Exactly. And you'd struggle to do a weekly food shop there ;)

wendym, I know what you mean. I SO wanted to just buy the camera with cash, which would have been totally stupid because a. I'm a little strapped this month and b. the camera is exactly what I've been saving the points FOR :rotfl:

Today I returned the dream lash NO7 sample that has caused irritation to so many (it came with the pink jewelry box gwp). I had called CS and was told to take it back to exchange for 7.50 (which isn't enough for a new NO7 mascara). I was hoping for a new mascara or points, so I called CS again and got someone else, who took my card number and put 500 points on it.

But since I had been told I could take it back on the first call, that's what I did. The SA said they normally need a reference number (which I wasn't given), so she would have to call customer service to get one. I got nervous that they'd say I already been given 500 points. But she didn't take my name or card number, so when she called CS they told her to give me a new, full-size mascara! She recommended the Sensitive mascara, which is what I got. Yay!

If you've got some Dream Lash you can't use due to irritation or are afraid to try, I'd definitely call CS or go into a store and say you were told you could exchange it. I don't know how it will work if you've got a lot of them -- I'll leave the logistics up to you! ;>

For those who mentioned trading in a mascara at the Estee Lauder counter: Has anyone else traded in mascara for Estee Lauder, as I have a couple of old ones I need to throw away and would rather trade!

I traded one yesterday, I took the one from the no7 GWP, I was asked what I was looking for in a mascara, I said I didn't want a cloggy looking one, something more natural but giving colour. She recommended the lightest one they do, took mine and gave me the new one, very easy. Its not a full size one you get though, only a sample, but as it was only a sample from the GWP I took, I didn't mind that. I don't really use mascara anyway.
