Was at Boots Hartlepool Middleton Grange today. Big clearance shelf of haircare goodies. Tried a JF luminous colour glaze which was reduced to £1.75 with haircare voucher, SA said "I don't think this will work, but will try for you" It worked... so was free! They're usually £6.99!

So, hunted through handback... found other 3 haircare vouchers... got another one & UG radiant colour shine spray reduced to £2.39 from £4.79(never thought to use the extra 75 points from ACM... damn!), JF Funky Chunky reduced to £2.24 from £4.49! All went through no problem with the haircare vouchers.:j

Another SA came over and said "They wouldn't work for me this morning".... unlucky!

Might be worth keeping eyes out for! HTHS!

Also picked up on normal shelf but reduced, Naked Handwash reduced to £1, Naked facemask sachets reduced to 33p & MsManicure curved salon boards reduced to £1.49. Very happy!:D

Hope you are ok sally. :grouphug:

I'm really upset today about the news re that idiotic marine & that poor puppy. Sorry 4 off topic, but i'm a bit traumatised.:cry:
No amount of bootsing can help me today

scorpiokitten, what happened to the puppy? I haven't heard anything about this:confused:

Thanks to everyone for the kind messages :A you are such a caring bunch:D well, to cut a very long story short. I have problems with high eye pressure and narrow angles, which if left untreated I will have an acute angle closure (glaucoma). My mother has had an angle closure and it was very unpleasant. She lost the sight in her left eye - my left eye is also my bad eye. I was having regular check-ups at the western eye hospital, but was struck off after missing an appointment (they said I had to go back to my GP to be referred back to the hospital) While under their care I had a laser iridotomy (to create drainage holes to lower the pressure) but that was unsuccesful. The Dr's discovered (sometime later!) that my Iris is blocking the drainage holes (which causes added complications) and I was due to have another procedure. But, I have been in denial (lets call it burying my head in the sand!) and have not bothered to go back. But today, during my eye test at the opticians they could not read the pressure in my left eye. They can only measure up to 30. So my eye pressure is 30+:eek:on my way home, I popped into the GP's surgery and handed over a letter the optician gave me marked urgent. Hopefully, they will refer me ASAP. OOOPs sorry for the long post. I didn't intend on writting a novel.

Went to Droitwich boots, must have completely forgotten how totally rubbish it is. Hopefully will manage to get to Worcester boots over the weekend and see if they reduced the hatboxes further, they were £9 last time. Did get a S&G set for £7.50, added that to my present cupboard!
    Dooyoo £10.40/40, TopCashBack £17.19/30, Valued Opinions 50p/£10, Swagbucks 0/£20, Ebay £15/£25

Haha - thanks for that passion! Well, I could also buy those type of things from boots although they are not my favourite place at the moment so will wait for a bit lol.

When I was walking out of the shop, the girl rang her bell on her till so I reckon she told the manager about them and they took them off the shelf!! How cheeky! It was either that or they shared them out amongst themselves but surely not or they would get into trouble.

Which way do you think I should complain?? Ring them or email them??

There is also something else I want to complain about too and I have been meaning to post this on here for a while now but kept forgetting. Well, a few months ago I bought a "boots semi permanent hair colour in rich mahogany". I didn't use it until a few weeks later when i was fed up one night and fancied a change of colour. Now, bearing in mind I have mousey brown/fair hair and it has been coloured many times in the past, I did not bother with a strand test. As I started colouring my hair, my OH came upstairs and for some reason asked if there wa any left over to do his for a laugh and there was so I did his too. We left it on for the desired amount of time and then washed it off, expecting to find our hair a dark brown with a hint of red colour - I WISH!! - Our hair went purple - and I am not exaggerating. This is going back nearly 3 months now and I have still got purple tinges in my hair. I have washed my hair nearly every day since with all different types of shampoo and have used lemon juice and alsorts of home remedies but it is still lingering. OH had to shave his head as he got a terrible mickey taking at work. I was devastated and still have the box and the bottle that I used as I was going to make a complaint but havent got round to it - has anyone else used Boots hair colours and had any good/bad experiences?

Please, if you ever take any of my advice - take this: DO NOT BUY BOOTS COLOUR SEMI-PERMANENT HAIR COLOUR IN RICH MAHOGANY.

Also, if anyone can give me any advice of how to get the last remnants out, I would be most grateful.

    Hiya

I used a dark brown hair dye which came out black  It was far too dark for my skin tone lol. My hairdresser told me to either use Head & Shoulders or wait for it washing powder lol. I used the washing powder and it did strip the colour out.

    HTH, good luck!

    Hiya

Was in Boots today in Belfast and at the Estee Lauder counter they are giving away a free mascara if you bring in your old used one! I got a voucher today for one so going to dig out an old mascara. Not sure what size the mascara is but hey its free!!:D

Not sure if this is just in the Belfast store or all of UK. Maybe someone else could check for me?

    Hi Sally

Fingers crossed you get a swift referral. The NHS are pretty good when it's urgent (well from personal experience they are).

You make me feel guilty...I had my eyes tested last week (needed new specs) and I had put off going because I hate (with a venegance) the glaucoma test. Don't know why but I physically shake thinking about it....and it's not much really. My dad had glaucoma so I have to have the test. I realise now how lucky I am that my eye pressure is fine (was 18) and that I should not complain.

Thinking of you...and please keep us informed (stuff it that it's not Boots related....and if you really feel the need to keep on topic just mention Boots opticians somewhere in the post:rolleyes:)

    Take care

Hi Sally, please do keep us informed. I think it is probably rather annoying for everyone when people like me go off topic and start banging on about rats pee etc :naughty: , but this thread is like a little community and people do care, so I'm certain that everyone would want you to post as much about this as you want. I do hope you get refered very soon :grouphug:

    Morning Deb and all :)

I'll try to check - I'd hand over the No7 one I haven't used, after all the detrimental posts it's been getting.

Best wishes and hope everything is soon resolved :) My late Mum had glaucoma so the eye tests are free for me. But I don't even know what the glaucoma test is  Is it the blast of air?

Little warbler on its way lol.....................
If anyone gains an extra spare s and g bag i would be most grateful, i can't get to boots this week or next and so will miss out lol, i was planning on using it it a hamper lol.

    Mentionning hampers lol
I took my p+p collection apart, put in the box shredded boots brown paper from a delivery, just whizzed it through shredder lol, and then put 5 timedelay bits in, wipes, cleanser, toner, eye brightner and exfo scrub, left it on the table - couple of friends popped in last night - sold it for 10quid!!! Chuffed with that! As long as your patient with the lable on the bottom of the box it will come off in one go without leaving sticky bits!!
    Sarah :)

I'll ask my oh to try and get you one sarah skint :) Not sure if it's still a glitch where I am, but it's worked ok so far.

And thanks re the info about the label on the P&P box lol. I'm giving, as a gift, one of the sets I bought, so I might stipulate that the box is returned :;)
