I know, but I need to go out soon I can't wait in all day for them, I'm not spending Mothers day shopping.

If they don't do it today, then they won't get access again till next saturday. We can't step on the patio, its that bad.

Hi, I understand that it makes you angry. I would feel the same. I think that your neighbours probably don't realise whats happened, particularly if they have just moved in, they will be very busy getting things homely. And the workmen - lets face it - are only interested in making a few quid not keeping neighbours happy. You say that you don't know them yet - it would be really nice if you tried to hide your annoyance, put a smile on your face and introduced yourself, ask them if they have settled and then politely point out your issue with the mess. Chances are they want to have a good relationship with their new neighbours and will want to sort it out quickly. Also its not a regular on going problem - it's a one off that will soon be sorted I'm sure.

If the miserable rude git lives on the other side of them -they will appreciate a friendly face from you.

They moved in a few months ago, so they are fairly settled.

If they are driving into their drive & you give way, they don't even wave thanks. Thats why I've never put myself out to say hi, they seem a bit unfriendly.

Whereas with the other neighbours we will wave & say hi.

They only came round one when hubby was in to collect balls.
They were a bit funny about that too, 6 foot fence & soon after they move in loads more balls started coming over, so we threw them back over but shortly after they were all back again, so this happened again & then hubby didn't throw them over again, as he thought maybe they came from the garden the other side & thats why they were all coming over again.
So he put them in a neat row & waited for them (whoever owned) to call. It was them, but they just escorted the little boy, they never said sorry for all the balls & a laugh or smile just a bit brisk.
The other boy the other side looses the odd ball to our side, we throw it back if we see it, otherwise he calls for it.

My hubby just thought they were a little funny then, so thats why I've never gone around there.

    Hey Ormus,

The roofers came & cleaned it up, so all sorted now.

I do however think if you are doing things that will affect your neighbours, its good to let them know in advance, or as its happening, not just to not say anything :-)

    Glad you got it sorted.

Just a note that some people are very anxious and timid when faced with people they don't know very well and others just have poor social skills which is why they seem "funny" or unfriendly.

Don't get stressed about it just talk to them if they are causing you a problem and ignore them otherwise, as they're the ones missing out on opportunities of help from their neighbours.
    I'm not cynical I'm realistic :p
