Single parent holiday using Tesco Deals

Hi all, I hope you can help!
I am a single dad looking to book a holiday on a really tight budget for myself and my 15 year old (going on 25) daughter, we would like to go somewhere hot and lively but other than that we are not fussed where we go, it would be great if we could use Tesco deals as we have £420 worth but have just found out XL are no longer part of the scheme, best time to go would be school holidays but realise its much more expensive so we will probably have to go during term time, local airports to us are Bristol, Bournemouth or Exeter but if it keeps costs down we could treck up to one of the London airports

Any help really appreciated as we haven’t had a holiday since 2004

  • You can use your vouchers for a Cosmos holiday. If you have £420 in Tesco vouchers that means you could go on a holiday costing up to £1,680. Looks like they fly from Bournemouth and Bristol but as to what destinations I don't know.

Just one thing though if you look at their holidays on the internet then you will be paying the full price and not the internet discounted price (if you see what I mean).

You can use clubcard vouchers with Cosmos - they feature quite a few lively resorts in Europe ;0) The Canaries, Greece or Turkey maybe?
  • Unfotunatly its £420 of Deals so only £105 in vouchers

Oh ok, your next clubcard statement will be in May, so it gives you 3 more months to build up some more points. Or go on a late holiday in September which will mean you can collect points up into August!

Have a look at the cosmos site and see if there's anything you fancy then you will know what sort of points balance you will need.

What about a self drive villa holiday? French life are very good. Or you could go to a siblu site- they are good and have plenty of kids around. You may find it's cheaper to do it this way than to go on a hotel holiday.

Can you do that using clubcard points? I guess you could use the channel tunnel.

Certainly can! This year we paid for our accomodation with French life with CC vouchers and then ordered more for the tunnel as it's cheaper than French life were wanting for their ferry crossing. Initially I had intended to book a ferry crossing but they don't do it anymore so tunnel it is.
Alternatively you can book 2 return crossings on either the ferry or the tunnel for cheaper than a long return would cost. You just don't use one part of the tickets each way.

I have had the same problem. Have just converted mine into Haven holiday vouchers but now not sure which park to go to. Norfolk looks nice but which one.. as I dont really want the kiss me quick chavvy sea side - and my other choice would be golden sands.. but the reviews are terrible, - even though the brochure and website look fab. If anyone can offer any advise on this I would be extremely grateful
    Thank you!!:j
  • have a look here http://www.paidtoshop.co.uk for ways to increase your points/deals balance before May's mailing.

Cosmos have limited destinations from Bristol, none from Exeter or Bournemouth AFAIK

What about Perran Sands in Cornwall? It looks beautiful there.
Or there is one in Wales that does 1/2 board- thoroughly recommended to me by a friend at work.
