I have been doing IT support unoffically, for about two years, it has now been made official, but I do not know what training to go for.
My boss has said I can go on any training course I wish, and I guess a Microsoft Certification might be the first stop, as all my experience comes from my A Levels, personal use, and experience within the office.
Can anyone give any tips?
Thanks!

If you're primarily working with Microsoft, then yeah that's a good way to go. Ideally you need to break down what you are doing.
What line of support is it? 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc... Are you working with local machines, servers, what type of server (sql, email, iis).
There's an A+ course, that a lot of places do. It a well recognised qualification and is a good way of starting as it covers a lot of things you'll probably be doing.
Other Microsoft ones you may want to consider are MCDST, MCSA, and MCDBA. I'd start with the A+ qualification though, and maybe move on to an MCSA depending upon what you do as your role."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0 -
It will be working in an office enviroment, with between 50 and 75 users. We have an email and data server. All our machines are local, and I see this as an ideal time to get as much training and qualifications as possible to use it as a stepping stone.
Thanks, I will take a look at those courses0 -
As wolfman says A+, Network+, + Microsoft Certifications.
Currently doing A+ and MSCA (Exchange 70-284 as elective) got some money from the council to do them.Hug provider for depression thread :grouphug:

If you boss has offered to pay for a training course then surely it is your duty to your CV to find the one that will most enhance your future career prospects.0
