Mumzyof2 - well done on spending so little :T
I've only bought cheese, eggs & milk so far for us but I've spent nearly £50 on pet foods from Berriewoods, still should last 2 - 3 months maybe longer, with that in mind I've split the total cost over 2 months as that was half my grocery budget for March.
We're having macaroni cheese this evening with gammon. My menu plan has gone a bit to pot but I've been taken out for lunch a couple of times already this month and a friend of mine paid for a take out at the weekend (saving me spending any money and also not using my food). Makes me sound cheap! :rotfl:
Have a great day everyone.
I will go and update my sig in a min to reflect my spends so far.I won't buy it if I can make or borrow it instead

I'm not doing bad, spending is at £26.66 so far since 27th Feb when my month started which does include 2 weeks milk which is £5.60 a week, I have changed this and should be under £5 from next week, I was getting glass bottles which I do prefer in a way but it's more expensive and I am strugling to fit as many bottles in the fridge, we're becoming useless at rotating them so milks starting to go off. Mainly buying fruit and veg this week, couple of bits for DSs packed lunches, but nothing else so far. Feeling rather pleased with my little self so decided will MAKE myself try even harder and pay off one of DPs debts leaving me much skinter for the rest of the month so I'll have to do this now :rotfl:
I keep thinking I should do a freezer inventory but I get so far then get too coldso end up writing a few down then giving up, so been working on 'whatevers at the front'. I also need to do meal plan and post it on here like I used to, just wrote the last one down and ended up loosing it.
mumzyof2 caster sugar is the same apart from it being ground down further, there was a research done in which? magazine testing it, no better than normal sugar in cakes etc was decided. I stopped buying caster sugar a long time ago unless it's on a very good offer making it cheaper. I just use whatever white sugar I have if the recipe asks for caster/normal sugar.
Grotbags try asking for a referal to your local occupational therapy team, they did my adaptations in the last house inc the rails etc.One day I might be more organised...........

Hi Dinx,
Burgers aren't difficult to make and are soooooo much nicer than the shop ones. You could buy a burger press and meat for the first time for the price of your co-op ones.
It's difficult when kids want something, isn't it? Is there any way you can have tea going before they get home, so that there is less chance of them deciding what's for tea? ALso if it can be ready for them to eat when they are starving i find that helps.
Sorry, no seeds here!"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"
Trying not to waste food!:j

dinx did you take it to a council MOT station? Much less likely to be ripped off.
Ok tomorrow I will brave the freezer dig, I will list everything that's in one freezer at least!
As for the 'kids wanting' issue, I have 2 fuss pots but they are told what they are having and either eat it or don't. Sometimes a 'menu' can help them, list of what's for tea each night, they could be consulted at the beginning of the week to create it? Might help. One day I might be more organised...........

Hello,
I've been away quite a bit, for work, and what is more, I have to go abroad next weekend, over Easter:(
Great if you like travelling, but I just want to stay at home. I don't mind Europe of the States too much, but I am nervous travelling on my own to places where I don't know any of the language and don't seem particularly safe  - I shan't say where, as I don't want to be identified (not too many people going to this place over Easter I shouldn't think).
So I am a bit stressed out and not doing so well on my challenge! But good luck to the rest of you, and maybe April will be better  .0
