BT call divert to mobile phone

Does anyone know if the Abroadtel 5p per min to call a mobile number can be used as a divert from a BT home phone?
I'm considering buying BT's Call Divert feature so that I can sometimes divert incoming calls from my home phone to my mobile. The cheapest way I have found so far is to also buy BT's Call Mobile feature which would reduce the cost of the divert-to-mobile by 25%, with the mobile number as a best friend which reduces it by a further 20%. But this still ends up quite a bit more than 5p per min.
I have heard that you can't set up 18866<mobile_number> as a divert.
Is there any other alternative carrier such as abroadtel which DOES work with BT's Call Divert?

IIRC, BT bar the use of all prefixes on diverts - I assume they do that by simply only allowing 'divert to' numbers to start with 01/02 and 07.Their - possessive pronoun (owned by them e.g. "They locked their car").
They're - colloquial/abbreviated version of 'They are'
There - noun (location other than here e.g. "You can buy groceries there") OR adverb (in or at that place e.g. "They have lived there for years") OR adverb (to or towards that place e.g. "Go there at noon") OR adverb (in that matter e.g. " I agree with you there").0 -

No BT call divert only works to to specific numbers.You cannot divert to indirect access numbers.
What i do i put a message only on my answering machine saying if you want to contact me you can probaly reach me on my mobile no 078123xxxxx.I find that people that really need to speak to me will call the mobile,and it puts off the junk callers.PF.0 -
Get an 0845 and map it to either landline or mobile. No standing charges. But you will have to pay for incoming calls directed to your mobile.

Thanks everyone - I was afraid that would be the case.
The combination of BT's CallMobile and BestFriend brings the cost of a divert to Orange mobile at peak times down to about 8p per minute.
Dagobert, what do the suppliers you mention in your link charge for this? I was getting the impression from the small amount of research I have done that the charges for diverting an 0845 directly to mobile (charged by the supplier of the 0845 number) were quite a bit more than the above.0 -

Interesting question. I practically don't use my mobile and I only just enquired about Telesave's rates to answer this question:
0845 to Vodafone/O2/Orange/T-Mobile = 14p/min day, 10p/min eve and 8p/min weekend.
0845 to 3 = 21p/min day, 15p/min eve and 5p/min weekend.
0870 to Vodafone/02/Orange/T-Mobile = 10p/min day, 8p/min eve and 8p/min weekend.
0870 to 3 = 16p/min day, 13p/min eve and 5p/min weekend.
I will post Gateway Telecom's charges once I have obtained them.
I presume you have to pay standing charges for BT's Call Divert and Call Mobile features. Therefore it will depend on your monthly usage which alternative is the cheapest.Dagobert0 -
Thanks for those figures. Do they include VAT?
Call Divert costs £1.75 per month and Call Mobile £1.50 per month, so you could say that the standing charge to get the 25% and then 20% discount on transfers to mobile phone is £3.25 per month - not much really.
For example, WITHOUT any discounts, costs inc VAT to divert to orange mobile are per minute:
Daytime = 13.6p
Evening = 11.4p
Weekend = 6p
With Call Divert + Call Mobile + Best Friend this becomes (inc VAT):
Daytime = 8.60p
Evening = 6.84p
Weekend = 3.60p
which for 0845 seems to be about 5.4 to 4p per min cheaper than the telesave prices you quoted (assuming they include VAT). So you'd have to divert more than 325 / 5.4 = 60 mins of daytime calls per month for the BT options to be cheaper. That's only two mins per day so it looks like BT is the best solution at the moment.
BT Call Mobile rates for various mobile networks are listed here:

depending on the usage level, is a 10p/minute 0871 number any use?
sounds cheaper than those 0845 and 0870 numbers when you add the call cost on as well.0 -

Yes, the Telesave figures include VAT.
I hadn't realized how cheap BT's Call Divert is. However, the 0845 divert is still cheaper for me as I practically don't use the mobile.
You might still want to consider an 08xx number or a combination of 0845 and 0871 - to gain some revenue and/or be able to retain your business number should you ever move.
You can still use the BT diversion for the number the 08s are pointing to.Dagobert0
