I used confused.com to get an insurance quote online, I filled in all the forms accurately
( including the question "do you have access to any other vehicles?" yes my company car).
Budget had the best quote so I took out the policy, I then provided proof of my no claims(my company policy) they have since said they cannot accept this and want to charge me another £60 for cover or £65 to cancel.
Any idea where I stand legally I have acted in good faith and provided all information requested.

Do you have 2 vehicles then.
You usually need separate no claim bonuses for each vehicle.0 -
The insurer is right. You cannot use the no claims built up on one vehicle against a second vehicle.I have acted in good faith and provided all information requested.

I own one car and have access to a company car.0

From Budget's FAQs:
"You cannot use the same NCD on more than one car insurance policy at the same time. The Regular Driver of a car has to earn an NCD separately for each car. If the Regular Driver has not had any accidents or claims in the last few years, we should be able to offer an introductory discount for an additional car for which an NCD has not yet been earned."
The 'access to other cars' question is an entirely separate issue to that of NCD. Yes, you have given them some information, but the information merely confirms that you do not have any NCD that is acceptable to Budget.
They are entirely within their rights to amend the premium.0 -
I didn't even know you could claim NCD via your company car policy but the confused.com forms said I could and I chose Budget on the basis of the information I supplied.
I didn't just decide off my own back that I qualified for NCD I used what would appear to be inaccurate information supplied by confused .com.

I presume you clicked through to the Budget website to purchase the policy.
The info button next to the 'Source of NCD' field gives this popup:N.B. NCD can only be used on one policy at any one time... [and for company car NCD] our Regular Driver no longer has use of the vehicleYes, they accept company car NCD but not if you are still using the company car running parallel to the private car policy. Confused.com has given you no inaccurate information - you have assumed that you can split NCD between two cars, which on the whole you cannot do. In fact, confused.com's own FAQs also state:"A No Claims Bonus must be earned separately for each car that you insure"0 -
I never used the budget site just confused.com,perhaps my gripe lies with the one size fits all approach of confused.
As ever the devil's in the details!
, thanks for your replies everyone.
