I've made £2.66 through Quidco for a Littlewoods order and 5p piggypoints today. Looks like I might not make this challege - and I really could do with making this month!

I used my massive Skybet bingo winnings of £2.50 to bet on a horse - well, two horses - the two favourites, Denman and the other one - I bet one to win and one to come second. Well one did win and the other was second, but I got them the wrong way round so I am now down to zero again with Skybet!
But I've 'sort-of' saved some money in that I've just had an eye test and was dreading the cost of new glasses - but for the first time in several years I don't need a new prescription, so I feel I've 'saved' around £140, which is what last year's glasses cost. I won't add it to my total, but I'll save it as a down payment on that Ferrari (when I find a pink one!)
Edit - I forgot to mention that the convex mirror I sold on Ebay which took me so long to pack arrived intact in just under 24 hours via DHL's 2 - 4 day service and cost £3.70 less than it would have cost using Royal Mail or Parcelforce.....
If you were expecting to pay for new glasses then you should maybe start putting away for next years appointment then you will have the cash there ready and waiting. Just an ideaits what I would do anyway.

It is a good idea and I have done it in the past, but there always seems to be an unexpected car bill or something else which is desperate and takes the savings before I ever get to the next year's eye test!
Edit - thinking about it, I realise I just lurch from crisis to crisis, moneywise!0 -
Ok, I really, really want to take part in this, but I have no idea how to raise £10/day
I will look into the clicks and have joined a bingo site with free start up £5 and won £20
but as for the rest of it...
I make handmade cards and jewellery and do sell some, but I have no idea how to expand and sell more. Have tried on e-bay, but too much competition, ditto craft fairs and at car boots, people just want to pay as little as possible for things
Any ideas?
Thanks0 -

I make hand-made cards which DO sell at craft fairs but I can't find enough craft fairs of the right type. So I started selling to shops - you have to charge a lower price but I sometimes get quite big orders and its more reliable. I don't do 'sale or return' because that way there's no incentive for the shop to sell! I first do a tour of whichever town I'm in to see what shops sell what type of stuff, and then choose just one shop where I htink my stuff will fit.
If your stuff doesn't sell at fairs or to shops than the answer is to try something else - look for 'a hole in the market'.....possibly cushions or wall hangings?0 -

I get where you are coming from but I am very very strict, if money gets put away for new glasses then no matter what goes wrong the money stays there and I have to find extra money for whatever the crisis is. I find if something goes wrong with my car and I have no money saved I do find it somehow so if I have saved for something else I will still find the money some how.
It used to drive my husband mad I would tell him we were really skint for a month and would have to be really careful and he would reply but we have £100 in car account £60 in christmas account and £100 in holiday we can borrow from them, but I NEVER borrow from an allocated spending. It is only when it came to xmas and the cars service and I had saved all the money in advance that he really understood and appreciated my way of doing things. The first year is a nightmare as well because we were paying things off for that year and trying to save for the following year, but now its fab, we always have the money saved and therefore no debt :j:j:j and when something unexpected comes up we find the money somehow be it extra work, or bingo, mystery shopping, quidco all sorts that I do on this thread.May 2015 £10 a day currently £2080 -
Reply to Batgirls post above: That's very helpful, and yet I haven't got to that point yet - when my car got desperate there was no other way - perhaps it is different when you are not part of a couple as there is no one else to fall back on - (no-one else to give me a lift or have a car I could borrow) and I am on a fixed income. I can't get travel expenses, overtime or bonuses. My electricity, council tax and fuel bills just keep going up. I should be able to do better since the Bingo wins, although that is going on a backlog of tedious house maintenance type things (not the Ferrari!) that I couldn't afford before. The cashback sites are helping a lot with the necessary stuff like car and house insurances.0
