Kitchen Tiling ....

.... walls, approx 30' x 2' with 14 sockets in total. Old tiles already removed however wall needs slight "skimming". Tiles provided, quote covers labour,adhesive and grouting.

Quotes so far range from 175-300.

Appreciate any thoughts on this.

Ummm, up here in west wales the going labour rate for tiling is between 16 and £20 per sq mtr. I think you've got about 6 sqmtrs, so lets say £120
plus adhesives etc. But thats up here.

That sounds like a day and a half work to me so I would charge you 245 including materials, but without touching the walls, would really have to see them first to estimate price of that. Although if it's just the condition of the walls that has resulted in the tiles being pulled off then shouldn't be too much of a problem and I may say i'd include it in the price tbh.

It doesn't sound like a complicated job but the cheapest is not likely to be the best although it would be hard to mess a kitchen splashback up. But I have seen some real bodge jobs!
