Spam mail to me from me!

I am using spamhilator and it seems to be working with a lot of work teaching it what is spam, but today I have had two emails from me to me asking if I want viagra! As a 66 year old woman No I don't need it thanks.
When I looked at the email source it seems to be from microsoft which I know it can't be. Does anyone know how this can happen and what I can do as I can't tell spamihilator not to give me emails to my own address or I'll get none. Also no one else lives with me so its not coming from my computer unless its the ghost of christmas past!

Mail headers can be faked. That is what has happened here and the faked headers are being sent out by a spam generating programme on a compromised computer somewhere.

Don't worry about it. Someone else will have the problem tomorrow.

I've been getting this for months. I doubt if there's anything we can do...you can't junk yourself!
I've been offering me 78% off something but I don't need 78% of something that is mine anyway.
BTW I'm using Thunderbird.

ps I take it you don't know anyone who would like the Viagra?
• Are you asking?

Of course not...I get 78%off
• Can you block email from you (allegedly)? Don't block email to you.
• I've not thought of blocking it from me I'll see if I can.

To DK what is it you get 78% off of?

spamhilator is a Baysian filter. You tell it what is good mail and unwanted mail. It learns and classifies depending on what you teach it. Your mail address is only one of the many things it uses as criteria so - yes can (and should) feed those two mails to it to enable it to do its job.

One of the plugins or a regular expression might be the way to go.

• Brian thank for your answer do you mean that I should block my own address?

You would filter on the From: header (note the ":") not the To: header, so you are not at all blocking mail which is addressed To: elkieluca@example.com
