so looks like we will have to get ripped off and go there!
thanks again
DON'T DO IT!
Get yourself a 'good runner'. I've had my N reg Astra for 2 years. Despite the odd tyre etc it has been really reliable and only cost a grand. Passes MOT without any trouble. Got to be better idea than paying on the never never with these 'Day light Robbers'.0 -
just to let everybody know we hane decided NOT to go there.
we had a phonecall from one of the sales staff and he was so pushy down the phone, even before we got there, well that put us off,we then asked him what was the cheapest you could pay back a month and he said £30, oh good we thought then he said no thats a week!so we couldnt of afforded it anyway.
we didnt want to got there is was a last resort we thought, but we are going to try to paybe part exchange it somewhere, if somewhere will take it that is, otherwise we are stuck with it and we will have to save up some money and fix the problems it has.
also the articles that turning into scrooge posted http://www.grumbletext.co.uk/vt.php?t=491&subj=complaints+Yes+Car+Credit+complaint are very interesting indeed and im sure will put alot of people going there.appreciate what you have got x0 -

You HAVE made the right choice; this lot are the lowest of the low in an industry with already very poor standards indeed.
Re to requiring a car, have you picked up a copy of autotrader (or their website), look under the sub £1000 category and you will be amazed at what is there. Remember their is Huge over capacity in the car market, this means new cars are cheaper and older card are practically worthless, this makes older cars a great bargain if you pick up a good one (there are plenty).
If you look around you will easy buy a nice car for £1000- £1500 pounds, if you have this amount of money already, you will pay it cash and have no hassle from anyone. Take someone who knows how to check up a car and you really should be laughing.
In the past this range was often referred to bangers, not any more, cars that are 7-8 years old should still have plenty of life left in them and have minimal repair costs. Many still look great.0 -
I know this doesn't help you now but when we left the UK 3 months ago we had a citroen ZX which we sold for 50 quid because we couldn't bring it. There was NOTHING wrong with it, it passed the MOT last month (a mate who is in touch with the new owner told us), and although that maybe VERY cheap, we'd bought that same car 2 years earlier for 250. Study local newsagent noticeboards and tell friends to keep an eye out for you.Three years, six months, three weeks, 13 hours, 48 minutes and 30 seconds. 26011 cigarettes not smoked, saving $11,704.80. Life saved: 12 weeks, 6 days, 7 hours, 35 minutes.0

If you are going to buy one private, if you know a mechanically minded friend (or a friend might know someone) get them to take a look at it for you to see if there's any work that needs doing that you can budget for if required. Biggest thing to check is when the cambelt was last changed as if this breaks then that's a big repair job.
I'd be inclined to look a Japanese cars like Nissans, Toyotas etc as they IMO are the most reliable cars of all.Never argue with an idiot. He will bring you down to his level and beat you with experience.

I knew someone that had a YES car. trouble is someone set fire to it. The insurance pay out was market value, half the cost of the finance remaining. OUCH.NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0

Aren't 'Yes Car Credit' in fact owned by the Provident ? and we know how much interest they charge. Stay well away.0

I wasn't aware that YCC is a subsidiary of Provident but with their extortionate interest rates it doesn't really surprise me.

I wouldn't touch them, but if you do check the finance agreement schedule v carefully
Bro had car from them, he'd had a car accident proir to this and had to go into hospital for an op. He'd taken out payment protection, YCC paid out :j
Year later he breaks his leg, 10 wks off work YCC won't pay out, say he doesn't have PP. Everythings listed out on Finance Schedule, but page is badly printed, the amounts don't line up!!!
They were adamant he didn't have PP, he told them that they paid out before, 'that was a mistake', but they didn't ask for the money back
and YCC wouldn't budge  He even went to CAB who said he wouldn't get anywhere
He doesn't have the car anymore, he bought a 97 astra diesel estate for £1k, can fix it himself, he's a mechanic
