Please Help - Newquay/Cornwall

Due to a major faux pas Ive made, the Mrs is now not talking to me.

I saw a cottage on ebay for the week commencing 13th August for the princely sum of £250, we have to go this week due to a gig we're going to on the friday at eden, However I let things get in the way and someone else paid for it on buy it now.

So I now have a major dillema, we have no where to stay and im officialy in the dog house.

Im easy where we stay hotel/caravan site/cottage etc but alas money is a fact the max im looking at is £250ish, for me the Mrs and the two teens.

Any help would be appreciated and maybe then I can stop sleeping on the sofa

Ta for now

    Good luck..

Been looking for somewhere in Devon/ Cornwall for that same week.
I haven't seen anything in cornwall sleeping 4 under £400, even ready sited tents are over £350 !!!

Most cottages, flats etc are not only way above your budget but most are fully booked.

Best i have currently found is a caravan in Torbay - and thats £389 for the week.

Try https://www.hoseasons.co.uk sometimes they have deals.
We have had some great discounted holidays with them in the past.
I have just booked a holiday to the Isle Of Wight for £125 for August, brochure price was £465.
Worth a look, never know you might get a nice surprise.
    Good luck anyway.
Be glad to hear if any of you find anything.

I just had to look what you were getting for £125 in August..

Its a 2 bedded lodge ( to save anyone else searching)

Quite a few companies are offering large discounts on accomadation for couple-only ( i.e 2 beds) during the school holiday period. All the demand is for family units - hence the price drop on units with no room for kids.
Haven have half-board breaks for around £180 per couple for a week during August. Thats £90 each half board !!!
Units for 4 persons cost more than double that price

Try here for a popular newquay park.

The local papers said there is a low take up of bookings in the county, so you may get lucky.

If you would consider camping - I am going next week for 100 quid for the week at:

    http://www.porthbeach.co.uk/ Newquay

I am NOT a camper but I manage here its in a nice location, good facilities and a pub on the beach at the entrance to the site ;)

You can pick up tents for pretty cheap - I think there is a thread on Grabbit about one in Aldi or somewhere for £80.
  • I know its a bit old but these guys have some great offers to Camp in Newquay:
