currys

ive got a thread on this but need opinions on this particular aspect if you will need to decide.

I had a £20 goodwill voucher from them but i dont want it i want cash. I dont want to shop in their shop after the problem i have had.

Im thinking of returning it to the person who sent the letter do you think they would send me the cash instead? Why do they send you vouchers you dont want to go in there do you?

I also dont think £20 is enough they ruined my xmas present and i had to chase them up several times but thats another thing?

I need to decide what to do as have had voucher a week now would you go for it?

    They wont give you cash.

If you dont think its enough, write them a letter and ask for more then.

How much do you want in cash?!
  • No, I wouldn't have thought they'd give you cash. If you want more, you will need to contact them and say that you don;t feel that what they have given you is appropriate considering the inconvenience etc.

if you end up getting more vouchers, you can always sell them to someone else for cash, albeit at a discounted value.

as they said it's a geasture of goodwill, you won't get anymore no matter how many times you post on here asking the same

if you don't want it then give it to someone who needs it and might appreciate it.

no why should i give it away? what would be the point in writing to them and emailing them only to give the voucher away. Im trying to do the best for myself here. im asking a sensible serious question why does it bother you im asking again? How would you have liked your christmas and christmas present ruined.

Thanks to all those who have given their helpful replies.

just cause you disagree with me doesn't mean my reply is unhelpful.
A geasture of goodwill is exactly that you won't get anything more. If currys thought you had a case they would not have given you anything and made you sue them.

as for xmas, I spent 4 hours at the hospital on xmas day so you could say it was ruined, but I ain't looking to get money out of anyone for it!

whats that got to do with me though or Currys. They sold me something they shouldnt have ruined my present and i had to return it to the store. They then didnt bother answering my emails.

when i have to start defending myself and you start bringing your irrelevant problem into it then the thread has been lost. Sorry i dont think some of your comments are helpful.

  • have currys replaced the product?

unfortunately, it is inevitable that occasionally a product will have to be returned, and i do sympathise that this happened to "ruin your christmas".

but the voucher was a gesture of goodwill, and they are not obliged to give you anything other than a replacement (dependant on timescale etc). it is those people who demand more than necessary that cause those companies to stop offering vouchers to unhappy customers.

well if we're going by what your reply to Sssssss was, then what has your problem got to do with any of us? why should anybody help you?
if you want help and/or advice, then the best way to get it is to be nice. you asked Sssssss how they would feel if their christmas was spoilt, they told you.

if your behaviour towards Currys was anything like you are acting now, then I am not at all surprised that they didn't offer you more.

  • It would also help if we knew what exactly happened so we could give more informed reply's not just guesswork
