scottish power want £120 per meter to change

have just signed up with scottish power for my gas & electric..im currently useing the payg key meter type of meter,i want to swap to direct debit,but they just told me they would have to charge me £120 per meter to change it but would get it bk in a yrs time,but im not really up for that...so does anyone know if any other of the companies will do it for free if i swap providers?

we have the same problem with npower they say there is a 4 month wait to do it! The general guidelines are that most providers won't change the meters over unless you have been a customer for 12 months. Or, as in your case, charge a deposit, repayable in 12 months.Personally I'm always ready to learn, although I do not always like being taught - Sir Winston Churchill0
