which credit card is best for my balance transfer

Options
please can someone help. I am new to this site and need some help quickly. I have debts of upto £4000 I think and need to do a balance transfer. I have an excellent credit score and do not know which would be the best deal for me. I need to keep payments to a minium so the 0% bt could be really good, but am happy to become a credit card tart abd change when need to. I've been onto moneysuper market.com and they suggested virgin and egg. Are these the best ones to get? I hane a partnershipcard, a barclaycard platium, and an asda credit card. I meet payments every month, but now need to start organising my monies so that i can pay them off rather than pay the interest !!! Please help asap Hoping to change today.

According to the article on here then Virgin is the best long term 0% deal, unless you already have a Virgin, MBNA or Alliance & Leicester credit card in which case Egg is the better deal.

Here's the article to read through:

    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/cards/balance-transfer-credit-cards

It'll help you decide whether a 0% deal is best or if another type of offer such as a life of balance offer with a low apr is better.

The partnership card is part of HSBC and Asda is provided by GE Money I think (from memory) so you should be ok to go for the Virgin offer.

If you're looking to clear the balances as quickly as possible (which it sounds like you are) then it may be a good idea to head over to the debt free wannabe forum aswell for a few ideas. You don't necessarily have to create your own thread over there if you don't want to, just reading through the others will give you some tips to help save money elsewhere and use that spare cash to clear your debts.

Virgin card for sure - 15 months to repay, first payment is 3%, further payments are max £25 a month. Get the card, clear your 4000, transfer all and any amount you're able to over this into a high interest current account to earn you interest over the 15 months. With any luck you will at least cover the 2.98% BT fee if not end up with a profit at the end.
