"Bidding for services" website?

Hi all

i remember reading on this forum a few months ago about a website where people post work they want doing, such as leaflet design, and designers bid on how much they're willing to do the job for.

Can anyone point me in the direction of sites like that please?

http://www.rentacoder and http://www.elance.com are 2 good ones I use.

I have also used http://www.scriptlance.com (another bidding for services site with particular emphasis on techie stuff) and I have hunted for suitable people on http://www.freelanceuk.com/freelancers-directory/ and http://www.gumtree.com.

Make sure you are careful with payments, I've used Scriptlance and just google it for the reviews.... and I haven't added mine yet!
Make sure you pay Escrow or sth, basically it holds the payment until you are happy. Also I would send the money from your credit card any small fees are worth it for the extra cover. I've given up with overseas programmers.. too unreliable and have so far ripped me off!

However, none of those sites you've listed are quite what I remember.

I seem to remember a message board where you could post something like

"I want an A5 size leaflet, plus business cards. I need a logo. How much would you charge me?"

And all the quotes came to you rather than you having to search through lots of listings.

I'm not imagining it, I think!
