TomTom MOBILE 5 Map update?

Hi All,

I currently have a Nokia N70 with the following properties:

TomTom MOBILE Version 5.200 (443)
GPS Driver v1.20
Map: 'GREAT_BRITAIN_MAP' V562
English UK

I was in town last night and the damn thing didn't take into account the fact that the city of bristol has been rebuilt over the last few years so it tried steering me into a carpark!

Is there any place I can download the map file for free? The software was given to me so I'd rather not pay for an update, not that the tomtom site even has one!

There are newer maps, but for TomTom 6. AFAIK, 562 is the latest version released for v5.

TomTom have pretty much protected themselves from piracy - all their maps are locked to specific TomTom devices, so they can't be copied.

I'm afraid you'll just have to bite the bullet and purchase a new map.

Tomtom sometimes do package deals, like £10 extra to get the whole of europe (so £50 instead of £40), a bit like a supersize burger meal lol
