Hi, iam unsure if i can make a claim here or not and so would like your advice

I have had credit card for approx 20 years with my bank and only recently decided to cancel my ppi payments due to money cut backs, so i rang cc and cancelled only to be told that i would not have been covered had i had to make a claim within the last 3 years as my hours worked are less than 16 ; when i first took this card out 20 years ago i was working full time but over the years with having a family and health problems my hours and jobs have changed.
So what i would like to know is can i claim for the ppi payments i have made in the last 3 years when i would not have been covered had i neede to make a claim?
Hope you can understand what it is i am asking

thanks

I take it you have read this article ,there is a link to the discussion forum.
I am not sure how far you can retrospectively claim but six years has been mentioned.

  • By all means give it a go, but I believe its pretty much industry wide that the onus is on you to advise a company if your circumstances change to such an extent that you are no longer eligible for cover - how else are they supposed to find out?
They should do the decent thing and refund it, but wont be under any obligation to.
  • Thanks for the replies, i thought the onus would be on me , no doubt somewhere in the small print i signed 20years ago said to notify of change of circumstances, hopefully as a sign of goodwill you never know.
