Changing archway to double doors

Our lounge and dining room is seperated by a wide arch. I have measured some double doors and they would fit in nicely, apert from a smallish gap that would need to be filled and plastered etc.

I assume I need a builder or carpenter?

Any idea on a price please?

Thanks

I'd say £15 per hour for a joiner (carpenter) and 1 day to do the job, as a minimum. However, they'll probably allow two days and therefore charge you £300 plus £50 for materials, plus the cost of your door + 15%, unless you supply the door yourself.

Ahem...if you don't want a receipt and pay in cash, they'll probably charge you £10 per hour rather than £15.

Why use a builder or carpenter?
    Why not do-it-yourself???

Also, unless you've priced the doors at Wickes, I would recommend that you do.
