AA renewal and Autonational Rescue
Options
My AA Option 300 is due for renewal in September so had a quick look round the web. Have Option 300 covering me and my wifes cars.
My renewal quote from AA was £156
New AA cusomers paying by DD £ 132
New RAC customer on the same option £ £128.50
Autonational Service offering a similar option £94.50
Has anyone used these people? Are they any good?
Any help or advice much appreciated

Go to vehicle breakdown and input details.0 -
Go to Roadside Recovery Article and nab yourself some Roadside Recovery Home Start and Onward Travel for half price with Norwich Union (they're taking over RAC). :j
Just call 0800 096 4704 and quote CQM1. Hopefully the one you speak to will not ask if you have insurance with them already (that's what this is for).
Hope this helps :T :beer:0 -

Oops,
sorry I didn't read your post fully
Did you get the 14 months instead of 12 when you phoned up?0 -
After 17 years of AA membership I have now switched to QuoteLine Direct after reading MSE. I've not had to call them yet, but you definitely can't beat their prices.
PS my car is over 15 years old and I drive on the continent several times per year0 -
Phone the AA and tell them you are thinking of leaving, that way you may get offered a lower renewal price. I got £23 knocked off mine.Never argue with an idiot. He will bring you down to his level and beat you with experience.

The only two companies that have there own fleets of vehicles and who trained to an high standard are The AA or RAC.Using another company means that there nearest local agent responds to you.No guarantee what his skills are. could be an untrained person attending to you. There vehicles do not tend to carry diagnostic eqpt the AA/RAC do.Cheapest is not always best for you.Ask the AA if they can get there quote down, they are able to negotiate with you.
Also if you have an accident are you covered,or do they expect you to pick up the costs. Not all breakdown policies cover this, its well worth checking.PF.0 -
I found that AA and RAC seem to slate each other for not providing accident cover but in their T & C's they both invoice you for accident recovery and say it's a "formality".
However, I have gone with RAC because they are cheaper and when my car had its tyres slashed and spray painted (vandalism) they arrived before the policeand they came out three times in total because of the sloppy Crime Scene people who kept coming back.

I have no experience of the RAC, but the AA also use local agents as well as their own fleet.0
