    Hi! :hello:
I had my last delivery for March tonight and it came to £53.62 so my total for March is £266.87 out of a budget of £320!! Under budget by £53.13 :j Yay me!!:j
I think I'm gonna try and push myself a bit more for April and try for £350. It's a 5 week month for me so this will be £70/week. This is for me, OH and DS(18months). I've mealplanned for what I have in the cupboards & freezer and I have enough in for our main meals for the next fortnight:), but after that I will do a big restock of the freezer.
This has been my first month posting on this thread and I think everyone has been really friendly and shared loads of excellent tips so I want to say a Big Thankyou Everyone you are all fab!!:T :T

Well I wasn't too far over in the end on my March grocery budget. I've done horrendously already on my April budget though!
I've spent £140.88 so far. That's not leaving me an awful lot of money for the rest of the month though is it?
My own stupid fault for allowing DH to pick up the beers as they were £6.49 for 18 so I said get 2. I checked my receipt earlier and was charged £15.49 for them so I went and checked the boxes and he'd picked up the 24 can boxes.
I can't even take them back though cause they've gone. Too much drinking over the weekend. Oh well, now it's gone it's gone.
No more for the rest of the month and let the livers repair themselves!
I have managed to fill the freezer to absolute bursting point though. I've got a few whoopsies. Some chinese and some indian. Some sliced meats for DD's lunches.
We were supposed to be out for the day today so had lots of picnic stuff and cooked a load of mini sausage rolls last night. Then the kids started vomiting. So no trip which means that DD is going to be having sausage rolls for her lunches all week as will I and DS!
I'm going to try and persuade DH to stay at work for his lunches for the next few days so that he can save some petrol money.
I'm hoping that I can keep to my budget but not overly convinced I can do it!
Will go and update sig now (goes off hanging head in shame!)

    Hi everyone
Just resisted the urge to go to the chippy for chips:D
DS came out of swimming and I was telling him how we used to always go for chips after the baths when we were wee, well then became desperate for a bag, could smell and taste them, asked him if he wanted some but he said no  so we came home and had cornflakes instead

Would like to cut and paste all your wonderful recipes as I read thru' but so far can't work out how to do this - can some clever person help?

MrsM love the idea of adding oats and grating things to bulk out mince - am going to try this in April, and can you please tell me what you put in your coleslaw?

M&S are giving money off vouchers for the food hall for each week of April, starts with £4 off £20 spend for 1st week - so if you had planned to buy anyway
    good night all

    Hi again,

I had to go out of town for work today and passed a roadside farm veg cart so stopped and bought a HUGE (25kg) bag of spuds, a HUGE bag of carrots (over a carrier bag full) and 6 large leeks - £10 in total. That should last at least the month (lots of leek and potato soup:D), the spuds may last 2 months (will they keep ok:confused: . Can't cook and freeze 'em al my freezer's not big enough). so that's first spend to add to my new April budget.

Tesco shop not arrived yet:rolleyes: .

Also I have a query please? I have a BM but whatever I make always seems really heavy and stodgy, even the bread rolls and hot x buns that were just mixed in there. Am I doing something wrong? Any ideas? THanks x
