Hi mumzyof2
Im doing similarI will just need to pick up fruit/veg/salad oh and my yoghurts
Everything else it coming out of the freezer, fridge or cupboards... well thats the plan
Have enough cleaning stuff and toiletries to last ages
I have worked out i have enough meat in the freezer to last over 12 weeks (90% of it whoopsed last month:j )
At the moment i have 1.5 kilo of pork(on the bone) in the slowcooker -half will make spicy goulash soup the other half pork casseroles - for hubbies flask
tomorrow im cooking a gammon -and the stock will make pea n ham soup for hubby
and sunday im doing chicken... and yes -you have guessed ..the stock will be made into chicken n sweetcorn soup for you know who :rotfl:
so that will replenish some of his soup supplies for his lunches with HM bread
just need to make a couple more sorts and thats his lunches for the month..so i can forget about them

Hi everyone, am new to posting here but would like to join for March.I am aiming for £217 for the month for food only. (non food e.g. soap powder, toothpaste, etc, not included. nor dog food)We are a family of 7 me, DH, 1st of 5 daughter away at uni most of the time but will be back for at least half of March (and raids the freezer when she goes back!) 2nd, 3rd and 4th of 5 all adult (at least as far as appetite goes), 5th of 5 is only 8 years old so eats a little less.Boyfriend of 2nd of 5 often eats here too if he can get work locally.£217 equates to £1 per head per day. I have nearly managed this in February, and have food in cupboards and freezer.Good luck to all of you.M2m.Frugal Living Challenge 2025.0

happy have found this thread. I need all the support I can get. Even if it is
across the ocean. (*^_^*) I claime you all as my new therapy and support.
I love you Guys and Gals all ready!:happyhear
I know how you feel, most of the people we know spend a huge amount on things without thinking about it, I find it infuriating to listen to. Until I found MSE I thought I was abnormal wanting to watch what I spent, make things from scratch and teach my kids the value of things, not just money. It's brilliant to find like minded people.:T
My storecupboard things would have to be dried apricots, sultanas and raisins. I bake a lot and these get added to cakes, sprinkled on cereals and eaten as snacks. They're great for DS who is very fussy with his food and has some strange allergys.
Love your name by the way, that has to be me this week:eek:Grippy is my middle name!0 -
