Hi, i Have A A Recuring Problem With My Toshiba Laptop, The Lid Keeps Cracking, It Is Getting Worse!!!! It Is Now Out Of Warranty!!! If Is 18 Months Old And Was Repaired Last August (just Before The Warranty Ran Out) The Same Problem Has Now Come Back, The Shop It Was Bought From Is Out Of Business, The Company That Repaired It Said They Will Fix It But Will Charge Me And Toshiba Have Been Really Bad Tried To Phone Every Day For Two Weeks Still Can Not Get Through, I Emailed Them But It Took A Month For Them To Reply To Ask For The Serial Number, Is There Anything I Can Do? Surly It Should Be Lating Longer Than This From New? Please Advise

Why Oh Why Oh Why Do You Have To Start Every Word With A Capital Letter????
It's irritating, and not normal!! (not to mention difficult to read and tedious to type like that!)
Can you not take it back to the shop you bought it from and get them to fix it? I would expect the software of a laptop to last longer than 18 months, but not necessarily the shell.
Does the cracked lid stop you from using it? If so, then insist on a free repair.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

Actually they wrote in all CAPS, but forum changes it to capitalise first letter of every word.Out of my mind. Back in 5 minutes.0 -
The lid cracking continuously means it must be under some undue pressure.
Does the lid open and close smoothly?"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -
That is a bit of a strange fault - which model do you have? I have two Toshiba laptops that regularly get dragged around and they are ok ... xGone ... or have I?0

Can your local trading standards help, might be worth giving them a call. We have 2 toshiba laptops and they are total rubbish, their customer service is non existant and their 'technical people' don't have much knowledge at all.In giving

That's a bit harsh! When have I been not nice??
Given it was written all in bold, very little punctuation, exceedingly poor grammar, and every word starting with a capital letter, I'm not surprised I didn't fully understand it.
I read it as the shop it was bought from was out of business, but another company (not Toshiba) was doing repairs for them, and were wanting to charge as it was out of warranty.
Besides, the OP didn't even bother coming back to reply whether the cracked lid was just aesthetical or actually preventing him/her using the computer, which I think was a fair and simple question for me to ask!
He/she only claims that "It is getting worse" which could mean anything!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')

Is it the hinges that are cracking or the actual lid? Most PC manufacturers will not repair these cracks unless it stops the laptop from actually functioning or you can see inside (such as wires and other parts etc). Hairline cracks are apparently withing spec.0
